Malcolm J Naudi Communications has a vacancy for an intern. This may be a full time or a part time position in which you will be exposed to all the work involved in a busy Public Relations agency. What we are looking for are energetic, positive people with a flair for writing and communicating in English, primarily. It is not essential to write in Maltese, the national language, although it will be considered an asset.
If you wish to take up a full time position, you must be prepared to work a normal 40-hour week, although some flexibility will be required on occasion and there may be opportunities to work from home. Alternatively, you may wish to take on a part-time position working 20 hours a week mornings or evenings only.
Among the skills you will learn are: how to conduct a press conference, writing a media release, organising a media launch, using Outlook in the cloud, media monitoring, photography, uploading content to a website, maintaining social media accounts and conducting live interviews as part of a research project.
You will be given plenty of opportunity to practise written and spoken English and (if you are Maltese) also writing in Maltese. You will also have the opportunity to witness the way a small business operates, including company registration, banking arrangements, client negotiation, filing systems and obtaining new business.
This is not a paid position and the duration of the internship is for five months, after which you will be given a letter of recommendation. I will require interns to draw up a mid-term report on their experience after the first 10 weeks in post.
For further information and to apply for an interview, send an e-mail with your CV to info@mjncommunications.com.
